Hello! I'm Dusty McCord, a Frontend Engineer at Apex Clearing Corporation based in Portland, Oregon. I transitioned into web development from a career in commercial video and film production, gaining the ability to efficiently manage time, collaborate with creatives and designers, and build consensus across cross-functional teams to exceed client expectations and remain flexible in fast-paced environments.
Currently, I specialize in building dynamic frontend applications using React and TypeScript. At Apex Clearing Corporation, I've developed complex forms for money transfers and data-dense dashboards for tracking and monitoring transfers and stocks. I work closely with UX designers and business owners on these projects, which are part of a SaaS-based fintech product aimed at lowering the barrier for enabling stock trades within other businesses' apps.
I'm a lifelong computer nerd who loves learning new technologies and experimenting with frameworks. I enjoy working on personal projects to explore tools like the T3 stack, tRPC, Mapbox, fuzzy search, and various deployment tools.
I'm a self-starter who thrives both independently and in team settings, always delivering high-quality work under pressure.
